Cenmox Capsule is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections like infection of the lungs, airways, tonsils and throat, skin and urinary tract infections. It contains amoxicillin as an active ingredient. It stops the growth and multiplication of bacteria. Cenmox is belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics.

Common use
Cenmox capsule used to prevent and treat various bacterial infections, such as chest infections (like pneumonia and bronchitis), ear, nose, and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, leg ulcers, gum ulcers, dental infections, and pressure sores. Additionally, it's sometimes combined with other antibiotics, like clarithromycin, to help treat stomach ulcers caused by H. pylori bacteria. It's belongs to the ‘penicillins’ class of antibiotics.
Dosage and direction
Take the capsule with one whole glass of water. Swallow the capsule as a whole; do not crush or chew it. Take this capsule at a fixed time to maintain a consistent level of medication.
Precautions
Liver diseases: This capsule when taken for long-term can cause side effects in liver especially in patients suffering from liver diseases such as bruising of skin, darker urine, and jaundice.
Kidney diseases: This capsule can further worsen this disease.
Cenmox should be taken with caution if you are pregnant. Your doctor will prescribe this capsule during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Breastfeeding women should cautiously take Cenmox as amoxycillin is excreted into breast milk. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if this capsule is prescribed to you.
Contraindications
Cenmox (amoxicillin) is contraindicated for individuals who have a known allergy to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
Patients with mononucleosis (an infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus) are advised not to take Amoxicillin, due to an increased risk of skin rashes.

Drug interaction
Cenmox may interact with following medications: Gout medications like allopurinol, and probenecid when taken with this capsule can cause allergic skin rashes; Antibiotics like tetracycline when taken with this capsule can reduce the effectiveness of this capsule; Anti-cancer medicines like methotrexate when taken with this capusule can cause an increase in side effects.
Missed dose
If you forget to take a Cenmox capsule, take it as soon as you remember. But if the time for the next dosage is close, skipping the missed one is recommended and resuming your regular dosage pattern.
Overdose
If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Cenmox by accident, it is essential to take immediate medical advice from your doctor or nearby hospital in case you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature below 30 ºC. Protect this capsules from light and moisture. Keep it in a dark and dry place. Keep the medicine away from the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.
